SURF Internet

Lanark City Council voted unanimously at the May 5, 2026 meeting to suspend the previously issued permits for SURF internet within the City of Lanark.   This decision was made following several recent changes communicated by Surf Internet that were outside the City’s control and materially altered the project’s direction and expectations. After careful review and discussion, the Council determined that moving forward under the revised circumstances no longer appears to be in the best interest of the City of Lanark and its residents.

The Council is presently exploring other fiber internet options for the City and hope to have more information to present in the very near future.
