2026 Annual Mowing & Lawn Maintenance Services
The City of Lanark, Illinois, is accepting bids for lawn mowing, trimming, and other clean-up services for the fiscal year April 01, 2026, to March 31, 2027. Interested contractors are invited to submit sealed bids in accordance with the following specifications:
Scope of Services
The scope of services consists of providing mowing, trimming, pruning, and blowing off sidewalks at designated locations, needed to ensure a neat and attractive appearance of all City property. Lawn mowing services will generally be provided on a weekly basis. However, the necessity of mowing should be determined based on grass growth, influenced by weather conditions such as rainfall, drought, and temperature. The locations requiring lawn care and clean-up services are listed as follows:

Bid Requirements
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope labeled “City of Lanark – Mowing and Lawn Care Bid 2026-2027” and include:
- Contractor’s name, address, and contact information.
- Detailed pricing for each service location.
- Proof of liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage.
- References from similar contracts.
- Acknowledgment of compliance with all federal and state safety laws, including OSHA requirements.
Submission Deadline
All bids must be received at Lanark City Hall by Feb 17th. Late bids will not be considered.
Contractor Responsibilities
- Furnish all necessary tools, equipment, and labor at the contractor’s own expense.
- Perform services in a professional and workmanlike manner.
- Adhere to all city regulations and the guidance of the City Maintenance Manager.
- Promptly repair any damage to private property resulting from operations.
Prevailing Wage Compliance
In accordance with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq.), the contractor shall compensate employees at or above the prevailing wage rates established for Carroll County.
Independent Contractor Clause
This bid request does not establish an employee relationship between the contractor and the City of Lanark. The awarded contractor will operate as an independent entity.
Award of Contract
The City of Lanark reserves the right to accept or reject all bids and to waive irregularities in the bidding process. The contract will be awarded based on cost, experience, and the ability to meet service requirements.
